The Hemmingway Hotel, The Cactus Hotel Bed and Breakfast, and The Dunn
Inn, are the top three BVCR recommended accommodations in San Jose.
All within walking distance to Avenue Central, they have all received
the BVCR Seal of Best Value Approval.. All three hotels fall into a
nightly price range of $35-$50 dollars.
There is much to be explored on your first day in San Jose. Whether
you prefer to shop, visit intriguing museums, or just enjoy the beauty
of the surrounding areas, you will find yourself busy all day long.
After your second night in San Jose, you should proceed to one of the
main bus terminals called Coca Cola. (Yes that's right, Coca Cola.).
The National Bus Transportation of Costa Rica is second to none and
all of the modern buses will take you to your destination in comfort
and safety. One note to remember, BE ON TIME!
From here BVCR suggests that you consider visiting Brasileto and
Conchel Beaches first, which are considered two of the most beautiful
beaches in Costa Rica. They are within walking distances to each
other, both 6km from Flimingo Beach, and both 16km from the popular
tourist Beach of Taminerendo. Busses run frequently to both locations.
Not over populated with tourists, Brasilito has the "real flavor" of a
Spanish village. It has great sea food restaurants such as The Happy
Snapper, which you will find right on the beach.
BVCR highly recommends staying at the only hotel on the beach called the Brasilito Hotel and Cabinas. Here you will meet your host Joseph,
the owner and operator of this European hotel. He is very
accommodating to his guests and will show you around his hotel and his
open restaurant, which serves fresh seafood on a daily basis. Rooms at
The Brasilito Hotel and Cabinas will cost you around $30-$40 dollars a
day; a great value to say the least. After settling in, you will find
yourself with many places to visit and attractions to see, which are
all within a 2-3 hour drive by either car or bus.
For any other reason you desire to visit Costa Rica, whether it be a long vacation, renting a house or a condo, buying property, starting a
business, or just retiring there, BVCR can assist you with information that will save you time and money. BVCR has researched all of the
information for you free of charge, and all we ask you to do is mention BVCR.com when you make any inquiries or use any of the
services mentioned by BVCR. Doing so would be much appreciated.
When visiting San Jose, be sure to visit the famous Canadian and Tico restaurant, La Casa De Mi Abuela. The house of my grand mother!
BVCR.com is a Canadian owned and operated web site on Costa Rica.
